Melissa is the worship leader from Healinglife Church in Adelaide, South Australia and following a successful crowd funding appeal has written, performed and self-produced these 10 tracks. Commencing the collection with an ethic horn sounding in the distance (a shofar?) and moving into a gentle piano led melody "Deeper" describes a desire to have a deeper relationship with Jesus and sets the lyrical tone for the whole album. All the songs reflect personal experiences and emotions with a desire to develop a secure relationship with God, relying on him and waiting on his presence. There is a need to tighten up the songs that tend to meander after the initial verse and chorus that has set up the theme, for example "Be Still Oh My Soul" at eight minutes long. Most could benefit from being shortened and simplified as many are well over five minutes long and a couple stretch to seven. There is no doubt about the dedication and ability here and the commitment both to God and to the music. Her voice is pleasant and her enthusiasm clearly evident. But her focus needs sharpening.
