Michael Beatty sings us some touching songs of healing, spiritual healing that is. His vocals are accompanied by some haunting sounds from acoustic and flamenco guitars. The mood is set by the cover picture of a lonely beach. All the songs are about crying in repentance to God in the middle of difficult circumstances. These songs don't come over as preachy. Maybe this is because they are from the heart of a man who has gone through these experiences. For example, in "Reconciled" he repents of his hidden anger. In "Only You" he lets go of bitterness towards leaders who have betrayed his trust. These are songs that perhaps loo many of us can identify with. They are brave songs to be admired. All in all, this is a deeply serious album with heartfelt lyrics. It could do with a greater variety of songs and some happier lighter moments. But then again, there is so much froth and bubble out there, isn't it time to go deeper?
