A British music student who is all set up to work as a music artist when he graduates this summer, Lovelock has created an adult poppy sound that is smooth enough to have been recorded in Nashville. Hang on! It was recorded in Nashville. Obviously Michael has been spending some of his student loan to fund a trip to Music City! The closing track "I Will Be With You" was produced by Alan Shatlock (currently known as producer of the new Phatfish album) so you know that this is an independent project that is guaranteed to have a crystal clear sound. Production wise, it's excellent and Michael is a promising songwriter capable of a catchy melody and inspiring lyrics. Both the upbeat "Rising Up" and the more mellow soulful "Looking Down On You" are polished pieces of grown up pop with much to commend them. It's a good start for Michael although the songs are more pleasant than stirring. He looks capable of carving out a career as a Christian pop singer though the temptation to launch a career in America must be huge!
