Roe (the 77s) and Taylor (Daniel Amos) made up half of the Lost Dogs during the '90s. This EP from 2003 sees the two work together on what must have been a fun, food themed, side project for the two. With a bit of inspiration from the Sacred Harp community singing the "All Day Sing And Dinner On The Ground" is a celebration of food and fellowship, complete, of course, with gang vocals. "Good Bread, Good Meat, Good God, Let's Eat!" continues the theme in an almost impossibly cheery way. "In The Meantime" is a reminder of the hope of Heaven and a call to look for glimpses of its peace and promise in the blessings we have now. "Happy Campers" is a silly comedy number that I would happily skip on subsequent listens (even though it does contain a genius in-song sales pitch, which would clearly have more impact at a show than when you've already bought it and are listening at home). Thankfully, it's not even two minutes long. "River Of Sorrow" brings the pace down but is probably my favourite track on the CD. "All The Very Best Things" is a sweet, well-wishing finale to an Americana CD that is full to the brim with positive attitude.
