Following on from the 2004 release of 'Healing Rain' this is a dual disc featuring a CD side of the audio album and a DVD side. The DVD side includes the entire album in surround sound, a short video about the making of 'Healing Rain', the "Healing Rain" music video, "Here I Am" music video and a trailer for Michael's latest film recently released in the States. I will concentrate mainly on the DVD as Mike Rimmer has already covered the album back in 2004 and I do not really have much to add to what he said! I do not really understand the benefit of releasing this dual disc, as there is not much of interest on the DVD and if you have already got the CD you are not going to want to buy it again - unless you are a die hard MWS fan. On The Stories Behind Healing Rain Michael talks of how he worked with Martin Smith on three songs on the album ("Here I Am", "Healing Rain" and "All I Want"). One interesting point was that Michael originally had the title 'Healing Train' for the album until Martin Smith suggested 'Healing Rain' might work better. Michael does come across as a very nice and humble man and I certainly hope that is what he would be like in reality. There seems to be so much 'fame' and 'marketing' attached to being a Christian artist these days that it must be difficult to remain grounded. The "Healing Rain" music video is very professionally shot, however slightly cheesy and predictable - yes there is rain! It seemed to me that the song lacked the passion and power that the video was trying to portray. The "Here I Am' video was recorded live on Michael's tour in South Korea, Australia and Brazil. It was interesting enough but nothing new and went on for too long.
