Not unsurprisingly this compilation showcases some of the best-selling American's biggest hits. The album began well with the anthemic "Secret Ambition" from 1988 and throughout there was a good mixture of upbeat and slower tempo songs. "Give it Away" had beautiful choral backing which really built the song and "Friends 2003" featured a superb duet between Michael and Deborah D Smith. "Breakdown" was a particularly interesting choice of track and it cleverly used the powerful speeches of Martin Luther King to challenge the listener. In general this is a useful album for those new to the CCM star and I congratulate Jen King, who compiled it, in choosing some interesting and less obvious Michael W Smith songs.
