Cross Rhythms has in the past expressed its reservations about Michael's 2001 'Worship' and 2003 'Worship Again' albums. At the time they seemed way too formulaic. For though there's no denying the quality and anointed power of such songs as Vineyard Music's "More Love More Power", Rich Mullins' "Awesome God" and Paul Baloche's "Open The Eyes Of My Heart" (on 'Worship') and Reuben Morgan's "I Give You My Heart", Chris Tomlin's "The Wonderful Cross" and Lenny LeBlanc's "There Is None Like You" (on 'Worship Again'), the original renditions are still the best. And though Michael's live performances in Lakeland, Florida and Louisville, Kentucky are exercises in slick professionalism - with fine bands, celebrity-studded choirs and huge audiences-cum-congregations, they still seem lacking the power of a Redman or a Tomlin. The third item in this box set is the worship concert filmed at Alberta, Canada in 2002. Again, great songs sung well with slick accompaniments.
