Diverse, inspiring, always pushing the boundaries, relevant, rich and thinking. Michaelis are not your average crew, delivering a lucid poetic imagery, interweaving an eclectic mix of classical, jazz and world samples plus a weird Art Of Noise quirkiness, this is a new thing despite its old school elements. Based in Birmingham, Michaelis have been turnin' secular heads such as Roots Manuva (whom they totally eclipse) and seem to be becoming a bit of a catalyst for the Midlands rap scene. Self assured, slick, yet God centric, this album could well become a classic.
