Yet another underground rock outfit from the USA where Christian music is currently seeing huge sales of what the industry defines as 'alternative'. I slipped the tape in and was pleased to hear a band who don't seem to have been affected by any corporate rock tendencies. Musically we are presented with straightforward songs with occasional ska influences ("George (Inside Out)" even contains a ska section). The songs are well constructed and cover a range of themes - I was particularly taken with the raw sound of "Ode To My Friends" which is a fun song recorded live in (he studio with lots of background noises from rowdy friends and must go down a storm live. The production amid perhaps be better, probably the result of the private recording and there is room for the songwriting to mature somewhat but this is an interesting album and will hopefully lead to great things.
