A Tennessee-based foursome whose debut full length somehow escaped UK release. MikesChair set out to entertain and inspire and have a sound that though lacking immediacy has an engaging mix of upbeat poppy songs as well as slower more reflective compositions. "Straight To Your Heart" resembles House Of Heroes though with a more pop-oriented approach while "Back To Life" has a similar sound to The Afters. Overall though, it's the slower songs that work best with "Hallelujah" standing out. MikesChair have made the message relevant to a generation who find themselves feeling increasingly disconnected from what has gone before, and indeed what is going on around them. This engaging set conveys that message.
