Worship obviously means a lot to this Newcastle-based minister; not only is he a worship leader, but he's also author of the book Teach Me How To Praise In The House. That's all well and good, but this album really doesn't do anything for me. Victor is credited with composing everything here, even though some of his music has clearly been borrowed from other people. "You Are A God", for example, opens with a riff nicked from either Rick James' "Super Freak" or MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This" (they're both the same anyway). Likewise, the tune for "You Are My God" is lifted from the old hymn "Trust And Obey". Throughout the performances and production are, in truth, well below average. I'm sure Minister Victor's intentions are good and the members of his church enjoy it when he leads worship there, but there's nothing inspiring about this CD.
