Classic rock launches this album and if you enjoy the sounds of the '70s, the opening five songs recorded here will push all the right buttons. Extremely derivative and Mirrors may wear their influences very obviously on their denimed sleeves but boy do they rock! Tight harmonies and strong guitar riffs abound, a bit a bit of classic twin guitar sound thrown in. This reminds me so much of my days as a long haired teenager back in the '70s and there's even a bit of a Status Quo vibe on "Water In A Desert"! They prove to be a most versatile outfit by putting on some '90s style in the second half of the album beginning with a solid stomper in the form of "You Won't". Overall the second half of the album is HEAVY man! There's some light relief with the acoustic "Calling For More" but for pure dandruff removing head shaking you've got to check out the bold "Free My Soul". The band have a strong evangelistic ministry and with all the band members including songwriter Ron Adams having, shall we say, lived a little, these are songs that strongly but simply communicate a Gospel message. None of this is particularly original and they are never going to op the Christian charts but their ministry is bearing fruit. Bet they are a killer live! And if you're a rocker, it's definitely time to look into Mirrors.
