The fourth of Californian Miss Kristin's releases, 'Ribbons And Pearls' is a compilation of honest songs that attempt to deal with some of the pains of life, yet in no way is this recording lacking in cheer. The title track was written at a time when Miss Kristin was going through a hard time yet she cleverly creates verses and choruses that may speak of hurt and struggle but with a twist of hope. Being a very animated character Miss Kristin has done her best to make the most of a fairly difficult life, delighting in her opportunity to create music that might help and encourage individuals who feel they have been in a similarly difficult place. Musically this recording has an up-beat sound; every song has a different feel to it with a constant twist of cheer throughout. With songs like "One House Divided" as well as previously mentioned "Ribbons And Pearls". There is a lot of good use of harmony within this album however Miss Kristin's vocals do take some getting used to, sounding somewhat uncomfortable at first. There are also occasions during this album where in the midst of a nice sounding mixture of harmonies the proceedings are let down by cringeworthy spoken words. Yet despite this 'Ribbons And Pearls' is successful in offering hope amidst difficulty.

I like the album...I really don't get where this reviewer states cringeworthy spoken words.
I really don't agree...and noticed very little spoken words. All in all a great selection of songs!
