Mo'j Harry - meaning Mr Harry - is the familiar name for Harry Mabaso, a carer in a halfway house, who hails from Gauteng, Johannesburg. He has written and arranged all 10 songs on this album, providing the instrumentation himself and calling on the talents of his local church choir for the backing vocals. It's an unrelentingly joyous album - 10 songs sung in Zulu and English which reflect the vitality and growing confidence of his home country. There's a powerful spirit of praise which runs through all the tracks, from opener "Ke Bona Elija (I Love Elijah)" through to the final "Lintoni Le" and there is no doubting the talent and vision of the man behind it all, nor the awesome nature of the God whom he is addressing. Picked up by a music label in rural Derbyshire, England, this album is available only as a download, but, although you can get single tracks, it's well worth buying the whole album - a snip at £5. And listen out for more of Mo'j Harry in the future.
