A canny chap is ol' Morris. For years Morris has been ducking back and forth between 'black' gospel and 'white' praise and worship (he's written such classics as "Be Bold Be Strong"). Now he's packaged in a way which Maranatha presumably hope will attract black and white record buyers. The choir on this set, the Bible Enrichment Fellowship Choir, are a lot more fiery than the Maranatha! Singers and the whole thing comes on a bit like that highly successful 'Saints In Praise' series. Some good songs: Clinton Utterbach's "When I Believe" and that old gospel warhorse "I've Got A Feeling Everything's Gonna Be Alright" ensure the listener's interest never wains. It's a shame that the sleeve sports an inept painting of Morris which makes him look a ringer for Tennessee Ernie Ford.

I would here Morris Chapman's music upon waking uin the morning when my Christian station came on. Jesus Your Name and I see the Lord.
When i finally found an album, the Psalmist, i was so happy, I bought oh this m,an is annointed. When I brought it back out, the songs were refreshing. There is not a song on there I don't like. It is a blessing. His later album had the songs
I was looking for and again I was happy. Hey I had to listen to a lot of Promise Keepers and Maranatha but I'm glad he put out his own name.

I just bought "Live Worship" with Morris Chapman & the Maranatha singers on CD. I didn't think I was going to be able to find it - it's out of print and had to pay $55.00 for it, on eBay...it was worth every penny! And I'm not a moneyed person, so it was a sacrifice but I'm not sorry. I wanted to use "With All of My Heart" as the ringtone on my cell phone. Does anybody know how to take a song from a CD and put it on your cell phone - or can that be done? I wish I had all of the tapes/albums and CD's he ever made - he's such a blessing. Maybe I'll somehow get them one by one if I just persist.

We pastor a church and I'm going to have our praise and worship team sing most of these songs - I know they'll love them!

Did you ever find his CDs. I'm looking for "I may not always be there" and can find it NOWHERE. I guess he really isn't always there.

I have a lot of Morris Chapman songs, but they're on cassette tapes.

Morris Chapman is a spirit filled man of God, who knows how to draw people into the presence of God through the gift and talents God has blessed him with. Very few Christian artists have that ability. Thus, true worship comes from deep within the heart, a heart that is filled with Thanksgiving and gratitude to the Lord. Worship is what we do from the time we rise in the morning to the time we lie down at night. Morris Chapman is genuine in his worship songs and not superficial. He seems to be a very humble man, and we know God gives Grace to the humble. Brother Morris Chapman songs compel you to draw near to the throne of mercy and grace. I hope he continues to be faithful to the Lord.

Although well known for his song writing artistry and God given ability to minister to people through worship Brother Morris goes far beyond the limits of the keyboard and voice in his service to God. On a recent trip to Michigan Brother Morris visited our small church and ministered in song, worship, the word, and prayer. He also spent an evening with the music ministry for a time of teaching and sharing. Brother Morris allows Jesus to make a difference is the lives of people by giving of himself, being transparent, and allowing Jesus to work through him. He will be the first to make sure the praise goes to Jesus for any good thing that happens in the lives of people.
