These songs mostly consist of one or two lines from the book of Proverbs set to an easy tune, repeated over and over again. "For the Lord gives wisdom and from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2, verse 6. The tunes are mostly very predictable, but not especially memorable. The video format should add interest, but doesn't, due to the lack of imagination in the production. The presentation is typically American and comes across as sugary and patronising. It also looks to be made on a very low budget, with little happening except a few children dancing as they sing the memory songs. Technically, the colour separation is poor and some sequences have poor lighting. My children might sit and watch it once or twice, but I don't predict that it will be a 'well loved addition to their video library'. I like the idea of children learning Bible verses, but this doesn't deliver the goods.

Have rediscovered these wonderful tunes with my granddaughter and for my Religion class, age 6-8 (after my four children devoured them regularly in the 90's and 2000's). I am impacted anew how catchy, clever, beautifully presented and memorable they are. What a fantastic way to hide the Word of the Lord in your heart! So good to see them on YouTube! Do yourself a favour and

I don't know about the Proverbs tape; I can't find it. The Colossians 3 tape is fantastic. Catchy tunes sung with zest and humour, all the better because they are predictable and repetitive (as the best children's songs are). The videos look on their website look fun too.

There may be better secular tapes for kids, but there are also many far worse ones, and the Christian alternatives currently available in the shops are generally dire. If this bad review is responsible for the impossibility of buying NIV Kids Club tapes in the UK, then Cross Rhythms please look again urgently!!

My kids LOVE the Proverbs video - I'm actually online trying to find the other ones. My daughter is 3 and has all of the verses memorized and my 20 month old asks for Kids Club over and over. A big hit here!

LOVE THE NIV KIDS CLUB TAPES

MY SON, NOW 16, AND I USED TO LISTEN TO THEM REPEATEDLY. IT HELPED HIM (AND ME) REMEMBER THE VERSES.

I LOOKING FOR THEM TO PURCHASE FOR MY 2 YEAR OLD NOW!

Tell that to my kids who watch it over and over. It's not about the production, but about the message. My kids watch the newest kid's movies with the best effects, but will always sit and become totally engrosssed in these songs. Not especially memorable, you say? These song's get the Word of God into these kid's heads and hearts. They remember them and will remember them for years to come. I've yet to see a kid refuse a video because the production was of "poor quality or on a low budget"

I totally disagree. I watched these videos and listened to the tapes as a kid and still to this day, even though I am in my 20's, I sing the bible verses as I go about my daily tasks. These videos have deeply imacted my life forever.
