With all the modern rock sensibilities of bands such as Pillar and Nickelback incorporating just a hint of the dirty guitar sound of Black Label Society, Nailpoint have crafted a superb debut. The maturity of songwriting is surprising for a first album and the catchy hooks stick in the brain for days. This reviewer went to bed humming choruses from the album and woke up singing them too! Stuffed full of chunky riffs to feast on, 'Falling To Pieces' will satisfy your cravings for anthemic melodies and unadulterated rock tunes. The album has the obligatory slower ballad number these kind of releases seem to require, and "Angels Over You" does the job well enough, if in a slightly twee manner. However, it's when these Port Huron boys fire up the engine and let rip that their class shines through; the glorious riffage of "Dragonfly" and "American Nightmare" is simply a joy to behold, and the title track is another particular highlight. A great debut.

I recently picked this album up from eMusic and I must say that it's one of my favorites. These guys rock and their songs are very well written and played. Hope they come out with a sophomore release soon. If they ever come to Oregon, I'm there!
