If you're a fan of classic '70s rock, then you're going to love this! "I Need A Drink" is a powerful mix of blues, Southern American rock with plenty of melody and fluid guitar. Think Duane Allman, think Clapton and enjoy! Nails & Scars are a three-piece capable of rocking out on "All I Want" or on the furious "Channels And Pages" which has great vocal interplay between singer/writer/keyboard player Kevin Norris and drummer Frank Lindner. "Movin' On" is another highlight with some excellent bluesy guitar from Dennis Rotary and a travelling man lyric. Their versatility is shown by the intense slower tune "Day After Day" and poppier "What The World Needs Now". "Church Game" is built around a funky blues guitar riff with lyrics that question religious behaviour. Dennis again gets the opportunities to show off his skills on the instrumental "Cordova's Daisy" whilst the title cut, as you might expect, exhorts listeners to drink the living water though I imagine that in club gigs the song would wake up the clientele! It closes with "Steppin' On", which is a classic piece of Southern boogie which is delicious! Boys, you HAVE to do more of this stuff! Music like this will always find an audience and so never falls out of fashion. Nails & Scars don't compromise on the music or the message with clear evangelistic tendencies. One worth checking out!
