For the more adventurous spirits willing to surf far and wide to find their music, may I commend Georgia's Nanyana to you. Check out their "Six White Horses" with a gutsy guitar riff underpinning the keening vocal of their girl lead singer. Or what about the turbulent jazz funk rock mix of "Change Of Seasons". Lots of diverse musical influences without closely resembling anyone, this could possibly be described as alt pop with prog rock and jazz overtones but even that doesn't do it. An American band who richly deserve to be heard beyond their home state.
