As most Cross Rhythms readers will know, the annual New Wine event held at Shepton Mallet has been a key source of bringing new worship material to the attention of the broader worshipping Church. While this year's live album may not have a totally standout song, there is plenty of variety in theme and style on offer here. Producers Trevor Michael and Willie Weeks have caught the proceedings well while the worship leaders and songwriters all show considerable skill. I particularly liked the variety of imagery used for God - on the opening track, featuring Sam Bailey, God is conveyed as our "Lifeline" and then later as a "Wildfire". Bailey sings, "Like wildfire God above/How we need you now." Best of all, God is "Good, Good, Father" on the final song (featuring Chris Sayburn). There's also an excellent musical creed, but my favourite track is the beautifully encouraging "Come To The Waters" (featuring Lauren Harris), well enhanced by some fine piano accompaniment.
