Live worship albums often stand or fall by the quality and quantity of new songs they introduce to the worshipping churches. Unfortunately, this 2005 release, although expertly recorded and produced by Paul Burton at the Brighton Centre and featuring top name worship leaders Stuart Townend, Kate Simmons and Louise Fellingham, has too many over familiar songs to take it beyond the memento-for-people-at-the-event category. Bags of atmosphere, excellent guitar work from Dan Wheeler and some strong vocals but we could really do without these versions of Tomlin's "How Great Is Our God", Redman's "Dancing Generation", Story's "Indescribable" and Simmonds' "I'm Grateful".

Sample Track Listing:
1. King Of Angels (Praise You) [mp3] [ogg]
2. Praise Awaits You [mp3] [ogg]
3. The Splendour Of The King (How Great Is Our God) [mp3] [ogg]
4. From The Highest Of Heights (Indescribable) [mp3] [ogg]
5. O Church Arise [mp3] [ogg]
6. In Every Day That Dawns (I'm Grateful) [mp3] [ogg]
7. Bambelela [mp3] [ogg]
8. Your Mercy Taught Us How To Dance (Dancing Generation) [mp3] [ogg]
9. I AM Filled With Joy (Ecstatic Praise) [mp3] [ogg]
10. Even As The World Began (All Over The World) [mp3] [ogg]
11. In Him I Have Believed [mp3] [ogg]
12. Wonderful Lord (Faithful) [mp3] [ogg]
13. The Power Of The Cross [mp3] [ogg]

This is the lastest offering from the New Frontiers worship team called 'The Power Of The Cross' recorded in the Brighton Centre with 5000 delegates. The worship leaders featured are Stuart Townend, Kate Simmonds, Lousie Fellingham (lead singer of Phatfish) and South Africian Evan Rogers. The standard of musicianship is superb and the selection of material is excellent. This is a great live worship album with a selection of fresh new songs that lift the listener into glorious worship.

Unfortunately, Tony Cummings review of this album is 3 years late and consequently he has unfairly criticsed Newfrontiers for not introducing enough new worship tunes into the church. Actually, besides Lord Im Grateful every song on this album was new in 2004/2005 and the musicmanship of the album is above most others. The strong vocals from Stuart, Kate, Evan and Lou reflect the vibrant atmosphere of this annual event which sees many gathered in the presence of God. The quality of the Phatfish band and the production by Paul Burton make this an oustanding album and I will have to disagree with Tony on his review!
