The popularity of the Limerick folkie has yet to transfer to the mainland, which should be remedied in the event of this Christmas CD getting a fair hearing. Irish music through and through in finest traditional style from singer and musicians. "The Seven Joys Of Mary" is delightful, ideal for a full harmony sing along by yourself and a group of pals. Familiar Christmas fare such as "The Holly And The Ivy", "We Three Kings" and "Here We Come A Wassailing" sound made to measure for the Irish roots treatment they receive. Great acappella harmony, dancing flute, guitar and fiddle, fresh arrangements. Serious material such as the stark "The Month Of January" provide contrast and shading to this nicely balanced session. Meaningful music for the whole of winter including the Christmas celebration.
