Some quality gospel sounds have been emerging within the UK Church of late evidence here the tight harmonies of 11-piece Nu Image, fronted by writer/musician Noel Robinson - offering a heart-warming collection of their own tunes. There's plenty of diversity with tones of calypso, reggae (both these created by guitarist Kevin Simpson) and some impressive gospel funk. A good chunk of the set, though, is devoted to beautifully flowing, soulful sounds - a la Parachute Band perhaps - which gently wash over you, making a real impression. Aided by fine instrumentation (including great sax and trumpet flourishes), this 60+ minute set truly helps draw one into a place of worship. Inspiring stuff.
