November Dawn hail from Canada and pretty nifty they are too. This three-track tape improves with every play with my favourite cut being "Mirror" with an artful blend of acoustic driven rhythm and a seering axe solo. Singer/bassman Sean Donley has a good, gruffly expressive voice, the band wear their influences (REM?, Steve Stills?) without slavishly copying anyone and, if they can hang on in there while they await a record deal, big things could dawn for November Dawn.
