Nu City are two rappers, Harmony Hi-See (aka William Cox) and CTwo (aka Chris Cunningham), from Medford, Oregon while Mr Kym (aka Kym McKandes) is a fellow emcee also from Oregon. Nu City accurately describe the album as having tracks "laced with bass-filled hip-hop boom, soulful R&B riffs, edgy rock guitars, club tempos, and West-coast influenced beats." This is realised in the radio-friendly title track as Nu City rep Jesus and look to rebuild the "cities" through Christ. The album fuses engaging and accessible hip-hop ("Dreams Take Place" with a catchy vocal hook) with upbeat, dance pop tracks ("Light"). There are standouts like the uplifting and worshipful sounds of "My God Reigns" with some brilliant MC-ing to match the tempo. The album has a number of inserts between tracks which are humorous and occasionally zany ("Redneck Call For Help") while there are some powerful testimonies on "Take Me Higher". In many ways 'You Turn' is a musical reflection of the heart of God - holy, loving, caring, powerful, transforming.
