There's a huge amount of gospel talent in Birmingham. In the past it has been overshadowed by the London scene but it seems Ike things are changing. I quite a while playing live on the gospel circuit and opening up for the likes of Kirk Franklin and Dawkins & Dawkins, it's time for Nu Life to go to another level. Their debut single provides a step in the right direction and Maryanne, Estella and Dionne sound confident and cool on 'Now That I've Found You'. With a solid soulful R&B sound to rival anything else you'll hear in gospel music and tight vocal harmonies blended to perfection, this is one single you need to hear. Five mixes of the track pump out of the speakers bringing different musical flavours to the surface. My favourite has to be the fresh sound of Tony Bean's "Bump Mix" with its fluid groove. Bean is responsible for three of the mixes her and the "Chilli Mix" adds a little Latin undercurrent to the proceedings. Linslee Campbell's "Soul Mix" is exactly that, giving another slant on the R&B feel of the track and overall there's only one phrase to sum this up. Stonking R&B! Nu Life look poised to make a major impact and me? I wanna hear an album's worth of this delicious music.
