I was working at UCB Cross Rhythms recently and a little buzz occurred concerning this duo, Rick Fairlield and Andy Proctor. Sadly, it wasn't excitement at the contents of the album. We're always a little suspicious when close friends, pastors or artists themselves ring up the station to request their album to be played. What everyone needs to remember is that if an album is good enough, it'll be played without any help. Music programmers always yearn to find the brilliant song that will enthral and inspire listeners. Consequently the first time I heard this was in a UCB studio with four fellow presenters desperate to find a decent song. As each one started we were filled with hope, only for it to be dashed, mainly when Andy started singing! Uninspiring listening! At home, listening again to 'Feeling The Fire", there are a number of musical moments that chug along quite nicely but the title of the album is the only thing here that contains fire. Synth sounds and arrangements are competent but dull, dull, dull. The vocals of Andy Proctor are certainly in tune but fail to grab attention. An album of ordinary, completely forgettable synth pop. Oh dear!
