It's odd that the first batch of tracks here are unexceptional versions of well known worship songs (Geoff Bullock's "Power Of Your Love", Darlene Zschech's "Shout To The Lord", Marie Barnett's "Breathe") and owe nothing stylistically to African American gospel even though it was that style, or a very good pastiche of it, which thrust the Norwegian choir to international notice. In fact, with most of the vocal work executed by female unison voices they could have come from any of a thousand anonymous white session choirs turning out a never-ending stream of MOR worship albums. Eventually on the CD the band and singers get a bit funky and we thankfully move on to some Tore W Aas originals which are a little closer to the OGC sound of old. But with no atmosphere (just polite applause at the end of each song) this is tepid and unconvincing as "gospel" and not very stirring as praise and worship.
