This new Nashville based husband and wife duo have been tying US reviewers in a knot trying to describe the musical constituents. One journo tried "Amy Grant fronting Innocence Mission" while another offered "The Byrds1 jangle meets The Edge's effects" and suggested Christine Dente (the haunting-voiced Out Of The Grey singer) sounded "like if Joni Mitchell sang Christian lyrics". There's a grain of truth (just a grain) in all these comparisons. Suffice to say that Christine and Scott Dente, helped by that superlative producer Charlie Peacock, easily transcend the influences to produce thinking-man's rock which, thanks in part to studio stalwarts like Jerry McPherson, Chris McHugh and Tommy Sims, is full of flowing rock musicianship. Lyricist Scott writes erudite songs, I particularly liked the Francis Schaeffer inspired "He Is Not Silent" and the dirge-slow closer "The Deep" where poetic imagery points to being swallowed by the ever deepening love of God. A fine debut.

Charlie Peacock produced a gem with this talented husband and wife team. The debut cd starts with the magical pop-styled, and most memorable radio hit, "Wishes". I just luv this song immensely!!! The voice of Christine Dente is so angelic; and Scott's added background vocals really form the song to it's whole effect. "HE is Not Silent" is another tune that I really like; I have a live concert video clip of the duo singing this song. This song hits the heart of every believer who thinks now and again, that GOD is Silent: I do believe sometimes it's because we are not listening! Psalm 46:10a "Be still and know that I am GOD...". It is hard to be still it seems in this rush about world of today we live in. The song "Remember
This" is also the title to their collection of songs from 1998: I saw the duo in concert shortly after the release of their collection cd. So, what are duo up to these days? If anyone has info to share please do, thank you! GOD Bless! - Don
