This particular Overflow (there have been several down the years) hail from Aylesbury Vale Community Church and this is their debut release consisting of five songs. The musical styles range from rock to pop, with hints of jazz which are intertwined to produce an enjoyable, uncluttered collection. Overflow's strength appears to be the more gentle songs. "Pursuit" paints a picture of chasing after God with a whole heart, while "Lift My Eyes" is an interesting take on Psalm 23. Outside of these, "Falling In Love With Jesus" is a straight to the point testimonial song, maybe a little TOO simple lyrically, but effective nonetheless. The collection finishes with "Alive" which sounds like it would work well in a congregational setting. Overall, there is a lot of promise on show here.
