There have been previous attempts down the years to rock up the hymns but none get near this ear-bleeding shredding of the ancient anthems. From the jokey opening where a 78 soprano tries in vain to find the note before stylus is kicked off record, through to the belching voice box intro of "Nothing But The Blood" and onwards through eight more venerable hymns transformed into metal/heavy rock opuses by producer/guitarist extraordinaire P K Mithcell and a series of guest vocalists, this is powerful stuff. It's been two years since Patriot Records (Rugged's original name) made this riotous romp over the religious sensibilities of dusty hymnody and 'All Hail The Power' still exudes passion and joyful conviction. Thoroughly recommended.
