I like the catholic selection of pieces on the disc which range from ancient to modern with the inclusion of a motet by Martin Dalby, a producer for BBC Scotland. "My Heart Aflame" is taken from the text of Song Of Solomon and its imaginative harmonies and dreamy quality lend an almost hypnotic quality to the music. One of the other more modern pieces "Jubilate Deo" by George McPhee grates a little more, and although he is also the choir's director, I think that things run away from him during the work. Maybe it would have been better performed by another choir or under different direction or just omitted altogether.
