Pam Thum's fourth album continues to see her mature both musically and lyrically and there is much here to enjoy and be challenged by. The moody melody of the opening cut "Go Down To The River", the slight dance vibe of "Age Of Faith" and the cute sample of three year old Pammy testifying at the start of the inspiring "I've Got The Victory" all bring something a little special to the recording but still I'm left with a nagging doubt about this album. There are two absolute standouts, my favourite is "Lazarus Generation" which is an excellent prophetic picture of the need for this generation to he raised from its apathetic death into the life which Jesus brings. Love it! Also, her touching duet ballad with David Pick, "It's Ok To Cry", has a stark vulnerability and reality which is reflected in other tunes. Pam's message is that it's time to be real about life and faith. These are songs clearly and strongly expressing faith, the production is polished, Pam's singing is great but still there is something missing here. After four albums, it just feels as though Pam Thum is still part of a group of Christian music artists who release fine albums each year without ever standing out from the crowd. Shame really because this isn't bad.
