With his roots in dancehall reggae and a life turned around by Christ, Papa San has established himself amongst the gospel fraternity in recent years and has continued to push forward creatively. Like previous albums, 'One Blood' features plenty of collaborations. Rapper Da'T.R.U.T.H. contributes to the opening cut "Step Up" which immediately grabs your attention and features some fantastic fast paced toasting from San. Another JA stalwart Stitchie makes a welcome appearance on the title track and I particularly like "Revival" which features Israel Houghton and has an infectious dancey feel and plenty of vocal treatments. Lecrae adds his own spin to "Radio" and Sherwin Gardner contributes to "Blessing" but don't think this is just about the collaborations. Sure, they add to the quality but Papa San's talents shine throughout.
