Lots of ethereal echoes, chiming synths and the occasional floaty vocal make up this rather new approach tlo instrumental worship. Not sure how easy it is to worship to something that sounds like a chilled out version of The Orb, but it certainly pricked up my cars. So, what's on offer? A bit of everything really. Kent Henrys "Give Thanks" gets the floaty, piped treatment, "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus" sounds like an ambient club remix and even "Our God Reigns" is disguised underneath a swinging, swirly African dance beat! The mind well and truly boggles! The amazing thing is, it works! It manages to avoid muzak territory due to its hip sound. In fact, it's one of those CDs you'll want to play late at night when you need a little atmosphere to wind down. Definitely a leap in the right direction as far as worship is concerned - the sound is fresh, '90s and it manages to connect. The man behind it, production virtuoso David Lyndon Huff, also brought us the marvellous 'Rhythm Of Creation'. A real ya-boo in the face of traditional, dirge-like worship. Perfect for hot summer nights on the patio.
