If you've not heard of the Passion you're clearly not an American Christian. Passion is a student Christian movement in USA and could be considered a cross between Soul Survivor and Hillsong United. Driving rock rhythms with skater boy punkishness is the current trend here, with David Crowder and fellow funky bearded singer Charlie Hall both providing some lively worship. Chris Tomlin is a bit calmer, but no less inspired, though Matt Redman here struggles to keep up with the energy of his US counterparts. And he offers no new songs this time. Actually it would be difficult to persuade anyone in the UK to purchase this album when there are so many similar and perhaps more relevant CDs available from the likes of Soul Survivor and Hillsong London, but the bonus of an added DVD could be the answer: an inspiring message, the story of Passion and some live worship videos are included as free extras.
