From the moment I picked up the beautifully designed case, I knew that this was going to be a CD that kept the tradition of quality for the many 'Passion' releases. Thankfully I was proved right throughout this CD. To start with (and I don't make a point of mentioning sleeves very often) the sleeve and overall design is excellent, classy and filled with everything you'd want to know about the tracks. Secondly, the CD is enhanced, which basically means that when you load it up on a PC you can access the chords and music, as well as lots of other information about the various worship leaders and the songs. This obviously makes the songs easier to get straight into your church and is generally just a nice touch. Lastly, and most importantly, this CD is jam packed full of brilliant songs performed majestically by modern worship bands. The basic premise of the CD is to take the classic hymns we know and love and to give them a makeover or maybe just contemporary instrumentation. It does this excellently and the atmosphere of a live performance is captured beautifully making this a powerful and moving collection of inspirational classics. Chris Tomlin kicks the whole thing off with a great version of "O Worship The King" and sets the pace for the rest of the album. It is unfortunate that some songs on the album are so good that others almost seem to pale in comparison, but this is really a testament to how good this album is. With worship leaders like Charlie Hall and Matt Redman lending their styles to such classics as "How Great Thou Art" and "Here Is Love" this is clearly an unmissable album. I found it a moving and inspirational CD that led me into a deep time of personal worship. With wonderful musicianship and slick engineering, this really is a truly great recording and one which should definitely be purchased!
