Paul Furlong is an Australian with a heart for outreach and evangelism. His songs reflect the thoughts of someone who loves God and sees the need for his touch on our world. He feels called to give away his music for free - both this and his 'Have A Little Faith' album are available as free MP3 downloads. Paul's songwriting veers between good and decidedly clichéd. Some of his lyrics are definitely a weak point - closing track "What Have We Done" asks good questions about our comfortable lifestyles but also features wince-inducing couplets such as "I go to church on Sundays/I do it very well/Say hello to Sarah/and to Simon as well." The track "Thank You For My Family" would be touching if it wasn't so sickly sweet. In terms of its sound, opener "Don't You Hear My Voice" sounds like late '80s Michael W Smith while on "Seasons" Furlong does his best Cliff Richard impression (this is no bad thing, his voice is a definite asset). The ballads are gentle and well produced, while the rockier numbers sound slick and smooth with tight female backing vocals and wailing, reverb drenched electric guitar solos.
