This album compiles 10 tracks from rare Paul Wright EPs. This is the third album from the Oregon-bred singer/songwriter who almost defies categorisation. Hip-hop is clearly a massive influence though his main instrument is the acoustic guitar. In fact, four of the 10 tracks have almost nothing else but voice and guitar. Paul mixes rock, jazz and reggae in with his rapping. Reggae dominates in the completely charming "Radio" which is a gloriously catchy ode to the idea that getting your music on the radio does not guarantee you get the girl. In a just world "Radio" would be a massive summer radio hit. The struggle with finding love on the road is a bit of a theme for the album's closing three tracks. Elsewhere, Paul's trying to figure out the meaning of his own music in "Saturday", coming to terms with the end of family life for an estranged husband in "Me And Your Momma" and just singing simple words of worship in "My Everything" and "Hold Me". The mix of sharp singing, compelling backing tracks (even when it's just a guitar) and engaging story telling is completely absorbing.
