Smooth combination of multi-instrumentalist Paul Espinoza with clear-voiced Margie Butler on a country flavoured selection of the USA's finest traditional fare. Much of the generous programme covers gems from such troubadours as Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger and Leadbelly with some anonymous traditional gems. Not much to choose between two enjoyable CDs. Vol 1 includes nice versions of "Motherless Child", the old spiritual, an aching, poignant "All My Trials" and the lovely "Prairie Lullaby". Pablo Carcamo supplies drums, bass and occasional lead guitar.
