Recorded in Belfast in 1993 and, three years later, released on a new label from Somerset. No doubt there is an interesting story behind this. The end result is 11 tracks, self-penned at a guess (no credits supplied) and produced and arranged by Paul Reid. Most of the lead vocals are taken by wife Sharon who has a pleasant voice sounding a little like Sheila Walsh crossed with Joanne Hogg - which means she sounds pretty good. The genesis of the album was a Youth Alive camp in Northern Ireland where Catholic and Protestant children are brought together. This theme of peace and reconciliation underscores several of the tracks. There is a strong message here which deserves to be heard. That it almost certainly won't be is a sad reflection on British CCM. That the song "Homeland" will never be heard by you is your loss unless, dear reader, you send your money to Taunton, a small sum to support grassroots CCM. And you never know, if enough people buy this debut album the Reids may be given the opportunity to record a follow up. If they build on their undoubted talents it could be very good indeed.

Is this the same Sharon Reid that used to work in rosebank children's home?
