I have classified this album as pop, but 'Time Passes On' has an impressive range of musical styles: "Bye Bye Baby Blue" is vintage Bowie, "Hey Hey Hey" is Springsteenesque while "Save Me Now" is rich country velvet. The dark-haired Swede is a handsome dude with a mean and moody look, which could explain why half the songs on the album are about relationships with the opposite sex. He is also exceedingly creative as a music writer and arranger. The musicians that aid Mr Hoglund to paint the sonic masterpieces are superb: Anne Stading, the backing vocalist should be looking for an album deal herself. My favourite track is "Some Kind Of Friend", which may surprise those who know my own musical taste; the Cohen-meets-Bowie sonic-surrealism made my eyebrows twitter. In conclusion, the album has an overall American pop/rock feel and will appeal to those who like diversity rather than one particular style in an album.
