Potential with a capital 'P' vibrated from the speakers as strumming acoustic guitar introduced me to the talents of Pete McAllen on this EP. 'Plug In' boasts five tracks that showcase this young singer/songwriter from Letchworth, all of which unashamedly draw their inspiration from their author's faith. The listener is encouraged to "Taste And See" and to know help is at hand on "Rescue Service". "Passionate Arms" introduces an intimacy that draws the listener into deeper experiences of the artist's personal relationship with the creator. This continues with my favourite track "By Surprise" and Pete's light trebly tenor floats above his heavy guitar strumming to round off the EP with "There's A Light". I feel this is 'a work in progress' and that's meant in a positive sense. The songs could do with some 'tweaking', bearing in mind that some chart hits have been reworked two or three times before reaping success, and in my opinion Pete would clearly benefit from a fuller sound using drums and extra backing vocalists. But the potential is there.
