Step with me inside the musical time machine and journey back to the days when all "right minded" Christians foolishly believed that rock'n'roll was sinful. The year is 1974 and four longhairs have made it into the studio with the legendary Billy Ray Hearn to make their debut. These days only Bob Hartman remains from this debut album and if you're a fan of the man's guitar, there's plenty of opportunity to shake the dandruff out of your hair. Ahhh...nostalgia! The '70s and it's twin guitars ahoy! Best demonstration is on the album's opener, "Walkin' In The Light" which is excellent 70s rock. "Backslidin' Blues" allows Hartman and fellow guitarist Greg Hough to indulge in some blues guitar. If you want a laugh, there is one truly appallingly terrible country song, "Lucas McGraw" which is meant to be funny but isn't. The one big let down is in the singing department, neither Hartman nor Hough really cut it but history tells us that Greg X Voltz is just around the corner to rescue Petra from impending obscurity and hoist them on the road to mega ministry.
