God bless you Petra. At least you know what you're getting when you buy a Petra album or accompanying songbook. It's a demonstration as to what can be achieved with some basic rock chords, eg, the 'no 3rd power chord', which repeatedly crops up in its different guises throughout the book in some basic progressions. But hold on, this is no criticism - it's great stuff, typical Petra that you can really get your teeth into and enjoy without having a music degree. There are however some testing modulations that will have you thinking hard and moving up the fretboard utilising all that barred technique you have been practising. The keyboard parts vary from quite basic and very effective, using our famous G (no 3rd) chord, to some nifty little licks and interesting modulations which will certainly shake you out of any complacency you may have relaxed into. Good rock music, great lyrics, great licks, great book.
