It's been a long musical journey since those far off days when they were Purple and purveyed a nifty line in acid jazz. Now of course it's modern rock rhythms encasing Louise Fellimgham's sinuous vocals and, as is demonstrated here, the effect is electrifying when the gutsy drive of the layered guitars, the wistful vulnerability of the vocals and the Christ-centered directness of the worship lyrics connect in audio symmetry. The slow "Your Love", with its simple prayer to Jesus, resonates with soaring power. And when the songs move outside the worship field - like "I'll Wait For You" with its poignant picture of a believer's journey away from God watched by a forgiving heavenly Father - the effect is equally memorable. Intelligent and memorable arrangements and excellent, uncluttered production by Nathan Fellingham and Kevan Frost. More anointed pop rock from the British Church.
