A real talent, Phil a Buckinghamshire-based 22 year old sings, plays (all the instruments) and produces a set of songs in his own 16-track which would put many a glitzy American production to shame. The opener "Against The Grain" is a decidedly funky dancer, the next "Talk About love" a neo-blues with some nice laid back solos. Phil's adenoidal voice never-overreaches itself, the lyrics are intelligent and he even offers an intriguing piece of inlay artwork. Investigate this man.
