When I heard Planet Shakers interviewed on the Z-Jam programme on Cross Rhythms radio they were presented very much as a touring Australian pop rock band "undertaking their first American tour." Yet the sleeve on 'Phenomena' reveals that Planet Shakers to be an event held in January 2001 in Adelaide, South Australia. Obviously, they've "done a Cutting Edge."This live recording is very much in the raucous, stadium worship axis of Youth Alive. Personally, I found it lumpen, stylised and with most of the vocals being dull unison ones, all the energy of the rock and pop funk rhythms still left me unmoved.
