With Hillsong and Jesus Culture having recently released remix albums it is easy to overlook those who have always lent themselves to the art of transforming existing Christian music through the remix. David Thulin is a prime example of this, taking songs from CCM artists and painting over them with his EDM brush, resulting in a very well worked six-track EP. Showcasing the likes of Nicole Croteau and Jonathan Thulin (both a part of the project Press Play) whilst also taking on hip-hop, pop-rock and CCM originals, Thulin creates a fantastically produced Christian EDM collection. The second track, a clever reworking of the beautiful "Architecture", is one of the standouts, a track originally released by his brother, Jonathan, who has become best known for his hit single "Dead Come To Life". The addition of breakbeats, risers and synth runs add much to the song. In addition, Thulin wraps up the EP with a stunning remix of Natalie Grant's "This Is Love" (from her 2013 album 'Hurricane') which is another creative triumph. Clearly Thulin is a top rate mixmaster.
