David Lightowler is an excellent lead singer, there's some tight playing (Richard Stephenson offers some torrid axe licks) and the whole thing has been well recorded in a pro studio. There's even a quality inlay to prove this team are a cut above the recorded-in-the-bass-player's-bedroom quality often associated with privately distributed Christian tapes. What is lacking is anything of real distinctiveness. Instead it's pop rock of unrelenting dullness. Even after several plays of the four songs here the listener is left wondering why none of the material has registered in the old grey matter. Maybe a good producer could have sorted them out, maybe Primetime simply need better material period.
